Job Summary and Qualifications


The Ultrasound Technologist (sonographer) performs diagnostic procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the physician. The sonographer will maintain technical skills needed to perform ultrasound procedures to include abdominal, OB/GYN, venous Doppler, small parts, pediatrics (where applicable) and invasive exams. In addition, the sonographer will maintain department supplies and equipment and will participate in the quality control of the ultrasound department. 

What qualifications you will need:

Education: Successful completion of training program in either: 1. Ultrasonography 2. Radiologic Technology 3. Vascular Technology. Associates of Science or higher degree.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate
  • Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) is required
  • Prefer Two (2) years experience as a fulltime ultrasound technologist in a hospital or diagnostic imaging clinic setting.
