Our client firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Labor and Employment Associate to join their busy team, focusing on management-side representation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-to-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a strong emphasis on advising on compliance and defending employers in a variety of workplace-related matters. This role requires deep knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, excellent litigation skills, and the ability to provide strategic guidance to management on labor relations and employment issues.


Key Responsibilities:

• Legal Counsel: Provide day-to-day legal advice to management and HR teams on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including employee relations, wage and hour compliance, employee discipline, terminations, workplace investigations, and employee benefits.

• Policy Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and review of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with evolving labor laws and regulations.

• Negotiation: Negotiate and draft employment agreements, severance packages, non-compete agreements, and other employment-related contracts.

• Training: Conduct training for management and HR personnel on best practices in labor and employment law, including anti-discrimination policies, sexual harassment prevention, and wage and hour compliance.

• Client Representation: Represent employers in all aspects of labor and employment litigation, including handling cases before federal and state courts, as well as administrative agencies such as the EEOC, NLRB, and DOL.

• Litigation Management: Manage all phases of employment litigation, including discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.


A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on management-side representation. Proven track record of handling employment litigation and advising clients on labor and employment issues. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.


Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skill and ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, required. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.


Compensation and Benefits include salary (180K-225K+), plus bonus and comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, professional development opportunities, including continuing legal education (CLE) and bar association memberships. JD required.
