About the Role:
ProStruct Engineering is seeking a motivated Structural Engineering Intern to assist with quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) tasks for engineering deliverables produced by our drafting team. This role offers hands-on experience in QA/QC processes, valuable mentorship, and exposure to real-world structural engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverables, including structural specifications (SSS data), roof line alignment, general notes, design specs, and write-ups.
- Verify basic compliance with applicable codes and standards for seismic, wind, and other design values.
- Identify discrepancies, errors, or areas for improvement and provide detailed feedback.
- Collaborate closely with the senior engineer to refine review processes.
- Incorporate design and specification updates into final deliverables.
- Prepare summary reports documenting findings and required corrections.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Civil or Structural Engineering (recent graduates also considered).
- Strong foundational knowledge of structural design principles and applicable codes.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively.
- Availability to dedicate 2-3 hours/day for QA/QC tasks, with flexibility for training and feedback sessions.
- Interest in gaining hands-on experience in structural engineering QA/QC.
