Our services focus on the planning and design of the structured cabling infrastructure, audio/visual systems, and electronic video security systems within the built environment. The ideal candidate should have some previous experience with some or all of these low voltage systems. Additionally, we offer acoustical services focused on architectural acoustics, sound isolation and acoustical modeling. Career Opportunity

Design 27 is looking to expand our design team with the addition of a BIM Specialist in our Indianapolis, IN office. Design 27 creates innovative technology and acoustical solutions in the built environment that impact user engagement and experiences. The BIM Specialist will work in a team environment to produce accurate drawings and revisions of our low voltage systems drawings that are coordinated with our architectural clients. The position requires a firm understanding and proficiency in three-dimensional modeling techniques utilizing Revit software.

Within our team at Design 27, the BIM Specialist position will assist with delivering high quality data enriched models and the resulting drawings to our clients. This position will be involved with overall project planning, model updates, detailed design development, and coordination between other design disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Project specific Revit Model accuracy and completeness. Creating, managing and maintain project Revit models by reviewing existing and new construction documents such as architectural, structural, and mechanical design drawings.
• Coordination with client modeling requirements.
• Implementation of project specific BIM deployment plans.
• Incorporation of Design 27 typical standards, guidelines and best practices within Revit models and drawing sets.
• Conduct project site visits to assist with field inspections and collection existing conditions.
• Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions such as RFIs, ASIs, PRs, and Addendums.
• Provide quality control for completeness and overall thoroughness of project models and drawing sets to clarify discrepancies and revises design to produce a more accurate and thorough design set.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate degree in BIM Technology, Engineering Technology, or related engineering and or drafting fields.
• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in the architectural/engineering/construction industry.
• Proficient in using Revit software.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drawing production software.
• Detail and accuracy oriented.
• Have an ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to identify problems/discrepancies with designs and plans.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Result oriented, highly analytical, able to be a strategic and creative thinker.
• Efficient and able to prioritize tasks.
