JOB SUMMARY

The VP, Management Director (VP-MD) is responsible for the overall management of assigned account or line of business. The VP-MD represents the Agency's senior management on a day-to-day basis with the Client and within the Agency. The VP-MD's role includes overseeing the development of business/marketing strategy, process/communications management and people/relationship building.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Business Development: Identify opportunities to grow existing business and actively participate in new business pitches. Oversee the development of business/marketing strategy for client(s).
  2. Account Management Strategy: Consistently make decisions by focusing on what's right for the agency; demonstrates maturity, ethics, integrity and fiscal responsibility.
  3. Team Development: Provide strong focus on managing labor. Manage development needs of team members to maximize learning and productivity while minimizing turnover.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. On average, oversees client business with revenue(s) up to $7MM.
  2. Lead the team (or multiple teams) on strategic/business development and tactical implementation.
  3. Develop and maintain strong client relations with all levels of client management as appropriate with focus on day-to-day managers.
  4. Identify and resolve client conflicts quickly and efficiently.
  5. Proactively challenge and address client needs for long-term, future (i.e., beyond current/next sales period).
  6. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities for the agency.
  7. Possess an intimate knowledge of the category markets to which their brands belong.
  8. Thoroughly understand the brands, their strategic/relevant histories, and performance. Appropriately interpret market research data.
  9. Analyze and extract pertinent findings/issues from all available marketing data.
  10. Ensure that all agency efforts and creative campaigns are in the best interest of building the brand; lead creative and account teams in the development of breakthrough creative.
  11. Thoroughly understand the brand positioning and the long-term brand vision.
  12. Ensure all strategies, creative, and tactics developed support the brand positioning.
  13. Coordinate and prioritize activities among accounts.
  14. Set overall goals and timing.
  15. Train, develop, and appropriately delegate to account team.
  16. Encourage and provide growth and development to team members.
  17. Serve as key contact for senior most product managers.
  18. Develop and manage staffing plan to ensure appropriate resource allocation and utilization.
  19. Conduct performance reviews on staff.
  20. Provide accurate and realistic forecasts for the group.
  21. Routinely monitor financial performance of accounts to maximize income generation.
  22. Oversee contract development and overall budget development and approval.
  23. Liaise with internal senior managers, scientific services, finance, etc. to ensure optimal client satisfaction, business development, and income potential.

SALARY

$150,000 to $190,000 annually. The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
