Description:

NorthShore University HealthSystem's (NorthShore) new Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) complex on its Glenbrook Hospital campus in Glenview brings the promise of innovative quality care, patient access and comprehensive expertise. The state-of-the-art facility will be a true destination and central hub for cardiac and vascular procedures offering the latest advanced treatments and personalized care backed by sophisticated research. Slated to open in April 2024, the new CVI reflects NorthShore's community connected care model recognizing the growing need for cardiovascular care in the diverse communities it serves. What you will do:
  • The nurse will care for complex cardiac and vascular patient populations including post open heart surgery, mechanical supportive devices (i.e. ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump, left ventricular assist devices, Impella), advanced heart failure, and vascular surgeries requiring critical care management
  • Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit
  • Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
  • Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
  • Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
What you will need:
  • License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
  • Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
  • Certification: BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required
  • Experience: Prior nursing or if new graduate nurse, CNA experience preferred
