Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Applications Architect with a strong coding background to join our innovative team. This role is crucial in designing and implementing software solutions that drive our client's technological advancements in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of total experience, including at least 3 years as an Application Solution Architect.


As a Applications Architect, you will work closely with application architect teams and coding teams for API and UI development. While you won't be directly coding, your hands-on coding experience is essential for effective collaboration and guidance. You'll be responsible for supporting factories, building software within the team, and collaborating with product owners to translate business requirements into functioning software systems, services, and solutions.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the architectural landscape of our client's software solutions, with a strong possibility of converting to a full-time position based on performance.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive full stack solution design based on industry best practices such as microservices, streaming technologies, and event-driven architectures
  • Collaborate with domain architects, subject matter experts, delivery leads, and product owners to develop timely solutions for business problems
  • Enhance non-functional requirements including reusability, scalability, maintainability, performance, availability, and reliability
  • Lead identification and implementation of software patterns and artifacts for common use cases
  • Provide support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysis
  • Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation
  • Mentor and coach software developers on system design, code quality, and maintainability
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional, technical, and design specifications for development teams

Required Experience/Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-impact software products
  • 3+ years of experience as an Application or Solutions Architect delivering enterprise solutions at scale using modern cloud-native technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Strong hands-on coding experience in one or more languages: Java, C#, Python, and JavaScript
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, cloud computing, and non-functional aspects of software architecture
  • 2-3 years of AWS experience.
  • Good understanding of InfoSec and DevSecOps principles using AWS technologies
  • Experience implementing reusable software components and shared libraries for enterprise-wide use
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of advising on engineering topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or equivalent
  • Experience in the automotive industry or with financial systems
  • Background in application portfolio management

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
