Patient Services Representative

Position Summary
The Dental Services Representative acts as the first point of contact for patients when they enter the site and performs all clerical duties related to patients during both the check-in and the check-out process. The Dental Services Representative is responsible to monitor appointments and patient flow, answer telephones, schedule appointments, collect data, complete reports, and perform all duties, as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule walk-in, same-day, and planned appointments in person and via telephone for emergency, pregnant women, and children
Review, verify, and correct insurance discrepancies
Ensure reminder calls are made and documented in Dentrix
Collect appropriate co-pays and/or payments
Advise patients of privacy rights, collect patient documents, and ensure all items are scanned into the patient record
Explain Financial Assistance to patients, as appropriate and coordinate with enrollment staff to ensure documents are completed timely
Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience, or Licensure/Registration
Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively present information to others, including other employees, community partners, and vendors
Work in a team-oriented environment
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds and to be culturally sensitive
Proficiency in Electronic Dental Record software (Dentrix) and Electronic Medical Record (Athena) strongly preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Polish strongly preferred
Knowledge of proper use of all dental materials and dental equipment helpful
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Salary
All wages are based on relevant years of experience. The minimum rate is the wage that someone without medical/dental registration or customer service experience will earn.
COVID vaccinations are a requirement for PrimeCare Community Health. Proof of full vaccination is required prior to the start date of employment.
