The Fire Alarm Designer is responsible for designing and developing fire alarm systems that comply with local codes and standards, ensuring the safety and protection of buildings and their occupants. This role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and contractors to create effective fire alarm solutions that meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate fire alarm systems into building designs.
- Conduct site surveys to assess fire alarm needs and system requirements.
- Prepare and review system drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for system installation and commissioning.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the installation process.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in fire alarm design.
- Proven experience in fire alarm system design and implementation.
- Proficiency in CAD software and fire alarm design tools.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IFC).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Certifications in fire alarm design (e.g., NICET) are a plus.
