Designer for Womens Apparel – French Connection for Ross Stores Womens/Juniors

Designer of branded license related separates and fashion key items to work closely with Design Director, Sales team, & Licensor to bring the brand down to Ross Stores.
Womens categories:
Cut & Sew Knit Tops/Graphic Tees; Sweaters; Soft Dressing: Woven tops & bottoms; Sweater, Knit and Woven Dresses; Tailored Career Separates such as Blazers and Trousers.
Sweater experience is a plus.
Requirements:
Ability to shop market and identify trends for the Ross market, new fabrications/yarns, and key items.
Requires a keen eye for newness with ability to bring trends down market at affordable price point.
Ability to execute design, flat sketching, tech packs, cads, and trend/mood boards.
Detail Oriented with great follow-up and time management skills to ensure proto samples, market presentations/cads, and production hand-offs are well executed in a timely manner for deadlines.
Excellent communicator with internal and external partners:
Experience with daily communication with overseas sample rooms and internal Product Development staff for sample requests, fabric/yarn research and costing
Team player adept at cooperation with internal partners in Production, Sourcing, Product Development, Sales, and Licensing departments
Management Skills – Experience mentoring colleagues and delegating tasks to:
Associate Designers - flat sketching, tech packs, design room organization, cads, etc.
Artists – providing art direction
Culture Requirements:
Fast-paced – able to develop monthly assortment of product
Self-starter – someone who is willing to take initiative and has a natural attention to detail.
Technical Capabilities:
Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop/ Acrobat
Microsoft Office – Especially Excel and Power Point
