As a Licensed Collections Attorney, you will play a crucial role in representing our company in debt collection matters. You will leverage your legal expertise to handle a range of collection-related cases, from initial demand letters to complex litigation. Your goal will be to recover outstanding debts while adhering to California laws and maintaining the highest ethical standards.


Legal Representation: Represent our company in collection lawsuits, mediations, and arbitration proceedings. Prepare and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.


Case Management: Manage a caseload of collection matters, ensuring timely and effective progress. Develop and execute strategies for case resolution.


Communication: Communicate with executive team to provide updates, gather information, and advise on legal options. Foster strong relationships through professional and responsive service.


Negotiation: Negotiate settlements, payment plans, and other resolutions with debtors and their legal representatives.


Compliance: Ensure all collection practices comply with California laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and California’s Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.


Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed case files and documentation. Prepare reports and case summaries for clients and management.


Research: Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in collection laws and regulations.

Qualifications:


Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.


Licensure: Active license to practice law in California.


Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections law, including litigation and negotiation.


Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work independently.


Knowledge: In-depth understanding of California collection laws and regulations.


Additional Traits: High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
