Overview: The Data Architect with Cloud expertise is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for designing and implementing data solutions that leverage cloud technologies. As businesses increasingly migrate to cloud environments, the need for skilled data architects has become critical to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance in data management. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop data strategies that facilitate analytics, reporting, and organizational decision-making. The Data Architect will ensure that data architecture aligns with business goals, optimizing data flow, storage, and retrieval while upholding security and compliance standards. By utilizing advanced cloud solutions, this position will play an essential role in transforming data into actionable insights, making it crucial for the success of our data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement scalable data architectures in cloud environments.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and architecture.
  3. Develop comprehensive data modeling strategies, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
  4. Oversee ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data integrity.
  5. Implement best practices for data governance and management.
  6. Maintain data dictionaries and metadata standards.
  7. Evaluate and utilize big data technologies for advanced analytics.
  8. Optimize data storage and retrieval performance for high-traffic applications.
  9. Monitor data flows and troubleshoot data ingestion issues.
  10. Ensure data security measures are in place and compliant with regulations.
  11. Integrate APIs to facilitate data exchange between systems.
  12. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data professionals.
  13. Collaborate with IT cybersecurity teams to safeguard data assets.
  14. Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and data management trends.
  15. Document data architecture decisions and maintain project artifacts.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in data architecture or database management.
  3. Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  4. Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization techniques.
  5. Hands-on experience with data modeling tools and methodologies.
  6. Understanding of big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
  7. Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  8. Ability to design and implement ETL processes.
  9. Knowledge of data security protocols and compliance standards.
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  12. Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  13. Ability to work in agile project environments.
  14. Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts is a plus.
  15. Certifications in cloud architecture or data management are a plus.
  16. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
