San Francisco, United States New Relic Full time

Principal Product Marketing Manager

Req ID: FY25|S&M|#6805

Location(s): San Francisco, California, USA

Your opportunity

Calling product marketers with log management experience and strong technical backgrounds who can operate as business owners We're looking for an expert product marketer and storyteller to drive the go-to-market strategy for our log management solution to grow product revenue exponentially.

The Principal Product Marketing Manager will define and implement product positioning and messaging that connects our corporate narrative with our platform story, highlighting both business and technical benefits. We are looking for someone with superior leadership skills, B2B product marketing experience, and strong execution and program management who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth culture. You should be ambidextrous in your ability to work as effectively with product management, design, and engineering as you do with sales, marketing, and customer success. If having a tangible business impact invigorates you, and you are committed to setting the standard in your work, then this is the place for you

Our customers rely on New Relic to understand the meaningful connections across their systems, services, and applications, so they can understand, troubleshoot, and resolve issues faster. Log management is a critical component of our platform, helping developers, SREs, and Ops professionals troubleshoot and optimize their software stack.

As our log management solution continues its rapid pace of innovation, we need an experienced PMM to focus on clearly communicating its benefits in a way that is compelling to both our customer base and prospects, and is differentiated in the market.

What you'll do
  • Drive GTM strategy and lead launches for log management.
  • Develop differentiated product positioning and messaging that resonates with our core audiences: developers, SREs, and application owners, as well as economic buyers and decision-makers.
  • Articulate the benefits of log management as part of an observability platform to our customers, field teams, partners, and prospects.
  • Translate complex technical topics into clear, easy to consume, high impact content for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop collateral and training materials for sales teams that bring the product positioning to life with compelling narratives that are grounded in customer stories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional marketing partners to build engaging content such as videos, datasheets, eBooks, whitepapers, presentations, and webinars.
  • Play a key role in defining the log management narrative, and promoting it across various channels (web, industry events, exec presentations, field teams).
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and design to harness customer insights and define the product roadmap.
  • Perform market research and analysis and develop strategies that bolster New Relic's market position.
  • Increase product usage and adoption, in close partnership with sales, customer success, and the developer relations teams.
  • Communicate a compelling vision for log management through internal and external events.
This role requires
  • 12+ years in product marketing, product management or sales engineering at a high-growth B2B software company (experience with monitoring, observability, or developer software solutions is a plus).
  • Proven ability to effectively position B2B products for growth in the market, working with marketing and sales to build a healthy pipeline while increasing the velocity and rate of closing opportunities.
  • Experience creating compelling corporate messaging.
  • Superior communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing customer insights.
  • Skilled writer (samples required).
  • Strong technical depth and ability to learn quickly, balanced with sharp business sense.
  • Adept at influencing peers and managers, and building consensus in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in writing differentiated, provocative, and compelling marketing content for developers.
  • Experience speaking with developers and operations users, and a deep understanding of what makes them tick.
  • Growth mindset, positive attitude, and authentic curiosity to learn new things
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a technical field.
Bonus points if you have
  • MBA or advanced technical education or certifications.
  • Familiarity with observability and modern software development practices.
  • Experience with Product-led Growth strategies and execution.
  • Proven understanding of the challenges developers, app owners, and SREs face in building and maintaining software and their approaches to issue resolution.
