Job requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team on a six-month contract in Boston. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial modeling, reporting, and analysis in the Financial Services industry. The role requires a proactive, independent worker who can deliver high-quality financial insights to senior business executives, with a strong focus on cost management, revenue tracking, and sales reporting.

What you’ll be doing

  • Cost Modeling & Analysis: Conduct a deep dive into the company’s cost base within the Financial Services industry, creating detailed cost models and drivers for major spending initiatives.

  • Custom Reporting & Scenarios: Develop custom financial reports and scenarios using Finance modeling and reporting tools for in-depth analysis, planning, and decision-making.

  • Self-Service Finance Reporting: Design and implement self-service finance reporting tools for senior business executives, enabling them to access real-time financial data.

  • Management Information (MI) Reporting: Enhance and create more robust management information (MI) reporting for senior leadership to provide greater visibility into financial performance.

  • Revenue Tracking & Forecasting Migration: Lead the migration of revenue tracking and forecasting processes from Excel into a more sophisticated planning and reporting tool.

  • Sales Pipeline & KPI Reporting: Build and optimize sales pipeline reporting, including the creation of insightful sales reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive business growth.

  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Finance Process: Define and document the handoff process between Accounts Payable (AP) and Finance to ensure smooth financial operations.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner effectively with global teams and communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience: 6-10 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in financial modeling, cost analysis, and reporting.

  • Global Business Experience: Proven track record of working for a global business; experience with carve-outs or start-ups is highly desirable.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, with strong skills in financial modeling and presentation. Experience with Adaptive Insights (Adaptive Planning) is a plus.

  • Independent Worker: Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Education: MBA preferred but not required.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

Location: This role is based in Boston, MA.
Contract Length: 6 Months (with potential for extension based on business needs).
