Seeking: Hands-on former Controller experience, willingness to get hands dirty, and vision of a CFO for a dynamic small company.

Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks facing the company and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Manage the 401k administration relationship including 401k oversight and compliance/administration.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Develop staff.
  • Audit and Compliance: Support accounting manager with the annual review and workers compensation audit process, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Payroll and 401k: For payroll, support the accounting manager and HR as needed. For 401K plan activity and reporting and year-end audit, support the accounting manager, as needed. Oversee and audit sales commissions program.
  • Technology and Process Improvement:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent combination of educational and professional work experience.
  • CPA strongly preferred. Or MBA.
  • Proven track record of success in senior financial leadership roles, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in progressively responsible financial management positions.
  • Previous experience in public accounting highly valued.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must pass background and credit check.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Energetic self-starter with initiative and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to relate to non-accounting colleagues.
  • Very strong attention to detail.
  • Skill in preparing and delivering detailed verbal and written presentations.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and suggest solutions for betterment.
  • Ability to work independently, with remote supervisory support.
  • Ability to think conceptually.
  • Ability to manage time, and to work efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Full PC proficiency. Mastery of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Capability to clearly record and report detailed financial information.
  • Ability to organize and schedule a high volume of work, and to react promptly to last minute changes in priorities.
  • Willingness and drive to work overtime & engage in travel periodically.
  • Ability to maintain steady performance and enthusiasm in a dynamic, time-sensitive work environment.
