Job Summary: The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data models that support the organization's data needs. This role involves working closely with data architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure that data models are aligned with business requirements and support data quality, performance, and scalability.


Key Responsibilities:

Data Modeling:

Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories.

Ensure data models comply with organizational data standards and best practices.


Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with data architects, data engineers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into data models.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.

Provide guidance and support to development teams on data modeling best practices.


Data Analysis and Quality:

Conduct data analysis to support data modeling activities.

Ensure data quality by implementing and enforcing data governance policies.

Perform data validation and consistency checks.


Performance and Optimization:

Optimize data models for performance and scalability.

Monitor and tune database performance.

Identify and resolve data-related issues and bottlenecks.


Documentation and Reporting:

Document data models, data flows, and data transformations.

Generate reports and visualizations to communicate data insights to stakeholders.


Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Data Modeler or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and techniques (e.g., ERD, UML).

Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, IBM Data Architect).

Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration.

Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
