We are in search of a seasoned and exceptionally qualified Scientific Advisor to supervise the scientific methodologies at our materials testing facility and steer the laboratory's scientific trajectory. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our lab maintains the utmost standards of scientific excellence.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee Scientific Methods
    • Direct all scientific methods for the materials testing facility, ensuring accurate testing for THC, THCA, CBD, CBDA, and CBN potency.
    • Conduct terpene profile analysis and test for harmful microbials (e.g., Escherichia coli and salmonella), residual solvents, toxins, pesticides, and dangerous molds or mildew.
    • Lead plant sex identification testing to aid cultivation and production accuracy.
  2. Ensure Laboratory Quality Standards
    • Establish and maintain quality control and assurance protocols to meet and exceed industry standards.
    • Conduct regular on-site inspections, maintain specimen retention, and ensure the security and chain of custody for all samples.
    • Supervise lab space organization and ensure accurate records and timely reporting of results.
  3. Supervise Laboratory Staff
    • Train and mentor lab technicians, fostering a culture of continuous education and scientific excellence.
    • Oversee staff performance and education, ensuring that all team members receive regular training in the latest scientific practices and technologies.
  4. Compliance and Certification
    • Ensure the laboratory complies with all state and federal regulations, including obtaining and maintaining an Alaska Marijuana Handler Permit.
    • Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on scientific advancements and regulatory changes, promoting ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:

Doctorate in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus two years of post-degree laboratory experience.
OR
Master’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus four years of post-degree laboratory experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university, plus six years of post-degree laboratory experience.

Compensation:

$137,000 per year
