Workstation Technician

Shift: Morning Mon-Fri 8 AM - 5 PM

Contract duration: 1 Year

Position Overview:

• Collaborates with Workstation Support Services business units to ensure hardware and software orders are received, configured, scheduled, and installed.
• Ensures equipment is labeled according to specifications.
• Researches, verifies, and documents device specifications according to purchase orders and standards.
• Works closely with service and business units to relocate equipment as requested by departments.
• Provides on-site installation, customer service, and technical support independently for installations or repairs based on department or customer requests.
• Acts as a technical and equipment liaison in the field, collaborating with other support services such as Help Desk, Applications, and Materials Management.
• Assists with end-user training on topics like hardware/software requirements, move/add/change implications, scheduling, and the customer impact of break/fix options.

Inventory Management:

• Maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment needed for installations or repair requests.
• Collaborates with IT Infrastructure areas to manage parts inventory.

Security Compliance:

• Evaluates and processes equipment according to IT Security policies and guidelines.

Availability Requirements:

• May require overtime and on-call participation.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum: High School Diploma and 2 years professional customer service experience supporting PC, Macintosh, desktop computing hardware, and peripheral equipment.
• Skills must include knowledge of Operating Systems, hardware configuration, and software installation.
• OR Associate’s degree OR two years Technical School training in Computers, Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
