Company Overview:

Our client, a leading third-party provider of electrical testing and maintenance services, is seeking a skilled NETA Technician to join their team. The company specializes in delivering comprehensive commissioning, preventative maintenance, and testing services to a wide range of industries, including utilities, commercial, industrial, and renewable energy sectors.


Position Overview:

The NETA Technician will be responsible for performing testing, inspections, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment at client facilities. As a seasoned professional in electrical testing, the NETA will work independently and as part of a team to ensure systems are safe, reliable, and fully operational. This role requires advanced technical expertise and a commitment to safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of medium and high voltage systems, including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, and protective equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and commissioning activities in accordance with NETA standards.
  • Interpret and apply industry codes and standards (e.g., NETA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC) to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Analyze test results, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all work performed, including test results and maintenance records.
  • Assist in the calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
  • Work directly with clients to communicate findings and provide technical support as needed.
  • Participate in training programs and stay current on industry developments and best practices.


Qualifications:

  • NETA Certification (National Electrical Testing Association or equivalent).
  • Experience in electrical testing and maintenance, with expertise in testing systems such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing equipment, including power analyzers, insulation resistance testers, and multi-meters.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including NETA, IEEE, NEC, and OSHA.
  • Ability to interpret test results and generate detailed, professional reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites within the Greater Los Angeles Area.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (preferred).


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry testing equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time.
