Job Summary:
The Portfolio Operations Manager will manage one or more functional areas within Portfolio Operations, including capital allocation, budget governance (capital and operating), capacity management, vendor performance governance, and contracts management. Reporting to the Portfolio Ops Manager and in collaboration with the Principal Portfolio Ops Manager, this role involves overseeing critical operational processes and contributing to continuous improvement within a product-led organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Operations Leadership:
- Lead activities related to one or more functional areas within Portfolio Operations, including budgeting, capacity/resource management, and estimation processes.
- Build expertise in additional Portfolio Operations functions to support organizational needs.
- Process and Organizational Alignment:
- Identify and understand scope of work, organize tasks, and develop delivery plans and approaches.
- Ensure alignment and enforcement of portfolio management processes across the organization.
- Develop and influence a culture of continuous improvement in delivery methodologies.
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of assigned functional areas, ensuring deadlines are met and progress is tracked.
- Coordinate contract management activities with organizational leaders as needed.
- Provide leadership for team members and stakeholders, applying conflict resolution skills to address portfolio issues.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
- Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage conversations with leaders across the organization.
- Support data-driven decision-making and encourage stakeholders to adopt similar practices.
- Audit and Compliance: Participate in audits and other functionally related activities to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in portfolio management, operations, or related areas.
- Proven track record of delivering objectives on time and within budget.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and SDLC life cycles.
- Familiarity with Technology Business Management practices.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Proven problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Other: Must be able to report to the BTC as needed and perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
