Actuarial Analyst
Location: Cleveland, OH - Hybrid (onsite 2 days a week)
6 Month Contract to Hire
Job Description:
Will handle all aspects of data science and actuarial projects, including combining various data sources, creating statistical models, and automating report distribution. Your work will support the Population Health and Operational Effectiveness teams by leading and collaborating with teams to find and implement strategies that improve value-based care and reimbursements for patients.
Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one advanced programming language (e.g., Python, R).
- Experience with data extraction, statistical modeling, and evaluating analytic approaches.
- Skill in gathering requirements, estimating project timelines, and identifying potential challenges.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and knowledge of emerging technology platforms.
- Progress towards ASA designation and experience with healthcare claims data.
- Experience in data visualization, communicating results to non-technical audiences, and working on strategic projects.
- Experience with executive stakeholders and resolving data issues with complex and incomplete sources.
- Ideal candidate has passed 2 or more actuarial exams.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently, solve problems creatively, and seek help when needed.
- Strong decision-making, communication skills, and capability in turning questions into testable hypotheses.
- Knowledge or previous experience in insurance, and/or population health (Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree with a major in Mathematics, Data Science, or Statistics (Preferred)
