A position is currently available for a Master Scheduler in our Manufacturing Department. This position will collaborate with multiple departments to manage and continually improve the production planning process to ensure the maximum production at optimum cost and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
- Analyze and maintain the production schedule based upon demand planning, actual sales orders, internal capacity and factors affecting schedule attainment.
- Collaborate with project managers, department heads, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and milestones.
- Develop feasible master production schedules (6-12 mo. horizon) for finished goods and projected sales based on capacity requirement.
- Schedule demand based on the project mix and provide accurate lead times.
- Expedite approved rush orders, communicate schedule adjustments to customer service, production, quality, shipping, and warehouse staff to ensure all functions are working to meet required orders.
- Identify and assess risks, issues, and conflicts that may impact the schedule, and develop mitigation plans.
- Communicate schedule changes to Manufacturing on a daily basis to ensure labor resources and equipment are properly scheduled to maximize labor and achieve an appropriate balance between working capital, finished product and customer support.
- Manage load leveling and bottlenecks for more accurate scheduling.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure adequate flow of materials needed to meet the production schedule.
- Use digital tools to maintain dates, identify material shortages, monitor and execute production reporting
- Provide input to management regarding challenges such as scheduling problems, material shortages, design changes and backlogs.
- Provide accurate and timely reports, dashboards, and visualizations that communicate project status, key metrics, and performance indicators to management and stakeholders.
- Partner with Purchasing to source potential sub-contract suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, purchasing, and management to prioritize workload with sub-contracted vendors.
Qualifications:
- Technical Degree or 3 years manufacturing planning experience.
- Knowledge of production procedures and methods to determine the best path.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, machine tools, and machining principles.
- Ability to work with corporate supervisors, project managers, and manufacturing manager to effectively troubleshoot scheduling and capacity issues.
- Basic ability to read engineering drawings and convey requirements to vendors and sub-contractors.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications.
- Good math skills with basic understanding of Accounts Payable procedures.
- Ability to accurately handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle oneself in a professional manner in all interactions.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in an office environment, with exposure to mechanical moving parts in Manufacturing environments.
Schedule and Hours: 40+ hours per week Monday-Friday with weekend work as required.
