The Department of Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering (ECEE) invites applications for multiple Teaching Professor positions. The responsibilities will include teaching five courses each academic year, as well as performing service to the department on committees and other activities such as student outreach and recruiting. We seek candidates qualified to teach classes in one of the following areas: Computer Engineering and Embedded SystemsQuantum EngineeringThese positions are anticipated to be hired at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate Teaching Professor and the Teaching Professor rank. The department of ECEE includes 2 University Distinguished Professors, 8 endowed chairs, 36 tenure/tenure-track faculty, 7 instructional faculty, and 4 research faculty. Faculty honors include 16 IEEE Fellows, 3 members of the US National Academy of Engineering, an NSF Presidential Faculty Fellow, and 22 NSF CAREER Award recipients. The ECEE program consists of about 400 undergraduate and 480 graduate students and has averaged over $12 million in annual research grants. The department maintains close ties with local industry and national institutes/labs such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be The typical distribution of work for this role is 80% teaching and 20% leadership and service.The selected candidate will be offered a multi-year contract which may be renewable; specific term length will vary based on start date.This position will teach five courses each academic year.This position will also perform service to the department on committees and other activities such as student outreach and recruiting. What You Should Know: The anticipated start date for this position is August 2026, however a later start date may be negotiated. What We Can Offer: The anticipated salary range for this position at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank is $88,000 - $104,000 academic year salary.Qualified candidates will be considered for the Associate Teaching Professor or Teaching Professor rank.o The salary range for this position at the Associate Teaching Professor rank is $104,000 - $120,000 academic year salary. o The salary range for this position at the Teaching Professor rank is $120,000- $135,000 academic year salary.The anticipated salary range for this position at the Scholar in Residence is $120,000 - $135,000 academic year salary.A relocation stipend is available within CEAS guidelines.In addition to a competitive salary, the University of Colorado Boulder offers gender-neutral paid parental leave; housing down-payment assistance programs; a relocation and dual career assistance program; and teaching and professional development. What We Require: Assistant Teaching Professor: Candidate must have earned a doctorate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or physics at the start of employment. Or Candidate must have earned a master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field and 5 years of teaching at a higher education level or working in a related field in industry. Associate Teaching Professor Rank: For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Associate Teaching Professor rank, the applicant must meet the minimum requirements for Assistant Teaching Professor and have an additional 6 years of teaching electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or physics at a higher education level at a 50% or greater percentage of time and meet unit criteria at this level. Teaching Professor Rank: For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Teaching Professor rank, the applicant must meet minimum requirements for Associate Teaching Professor and also have an additional 3 years of teaching at a higher education level in the fields of electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or physics, and the candidate must be able to demonstrate a "record of distinction" based on departmental and college criteria.
