This role requires excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of civil construction processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of heavy civil construction projects in the Denver market, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications.
  • Oversee all project phases, including pre-construction planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and project delivery.
  • Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide leadership to project teams, including project engineers, superintendents, and field staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are met, promoting a strong culture of safety on all project sites.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations, identifying and mitigating risks to project success.
  • Coordinate with design teams and engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure that all work aligns with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Review and approve project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and progress reports.
  • Conduct regular project reviews to assess performance, cost, and schedule status, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local Denver construction regulations, permitting processes, and industry best practices.
  • Represent the company in client meetings, public forums, and industry events as needed.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in project management for heavy civil construction projects, with at least 5+ years in the Denver market.
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction processes, including earthwork, roadways, bridges, utilities, and public infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale civil projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, HCSS, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations.
  • Familiarity with CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) standards and Denver market regulations.
  • PMP certification is a plus, but not required.
  • OSHA 30 certification or other relevant safety training preferred.
