Hairstylist

Summary:

The Health Club Hair Stylist provides exceptional guest service by greeting clients and preparing them for haircuts and styles. Key duties include washing, coloring, and styling hair, recommending and selling salon products, and staying informed about the latest hair trends. The stylist is also responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and pleasant environment, in alignment with Company Standards.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome clients and determine their hair preferences through personalized consultations.
• Recommend suitable hairstyles and haircuts based on clients’ face shapes, hair types, and preferences.
• Wash, rinse, and condition clients' hair using the appropriate products for their hair and scalp type.
• Cut, trim, and style hair using professional tools and techniques.
• Apply various hair coloring methods, including highlights, ombre, and balayage.
• Create formal and everyday hairstyles, such as braids, ponytails, and updos.
• Use hair treatment products when necessary (e.g., hydrating masks, color protection creams).
• Build strong relationships with repeat clients and recall their style preferences.
• Manage appointment bookings and handle walk-in clients.
• Maintain the cleanliness of beauty stations and sterilize tools regularly.
• Cross-sell salon products and services as needed.
• Follow health and safety guidelines for salon operations.
• Comply with the company’s drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Experience as a Hair Stylist in a salon or spa setting.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of haircuts, hairstyles, and coloring techniques.
• Ability to handle hair care products and tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to legally work in the USA.

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State cosmetology license required.
