HirePlace is seeking a Senior MLOps Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure to join our client, a consulting firm. The position will be a US based remote opportunity with occasional travel to Nashville, TN. This role focuses on applied machine learning engineering, particularly leveraging GCP infrastructure and Vertex AI to scale machine learning operations (MLOps). The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and optimizing ML pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring secure and efficient deployment using modern cloud tools.


Daily Responsibilities:


  • Architect, develop, and manage MLOps infrastructure on GCP, emphasizing Vertex AI for model development, training, and deployment.
  • Utilize Terraform to automate the provisioning and configuration management of GCP infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) configurations to secure cloud resources.
  • Enhance continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes to streamline model updates and deployments.
  • Integrate data using Google Cloud Composer pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to embed ML models into scalable, production-ready pipelines.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, orchestration, and ML pipeline performance.


Work Requirements:


  • Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI, Terraform, Composer, and Kubeflow.
  • Strong background in infrastructure management, automation, and orchestration on GCP.
  • In-depth understanding of IAM and security best practices within GCP environments.
  • Practical experience with MLOps, particularly in model deployment and scaling in cloud environments.
  • Experience in healthcare or familiarity with healthcare data and regulations is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Healthcare experience and compliance knowledge, such as HIPAA, is recommended but not required.
