Los Angeles, United States Tower 28 Beauty Full time

Who We Are

Tower 28 is building a world where beauty is accessible, inclusive, and sensitive. We want to push the boundaries of what beauty should be: a mix of high quality, high standards, and high levels of fun. We want to be a beauty big sister, who knows what’s right (clean, non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free) but also knows how to have a good time (clean beauty doesn’t have to be so serious).

What You’ll Be Doing
As the HR Director, you will lead and optimize our HR functions to support our expanding team and business objectives. You'll build trusted relationships with leaders and employees, ensuring our HR strategies align with organizational goals. This role is crucial in driving our talent strategy, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting the growth and development of our team. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in West LA.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition and Management

  1. Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and extending offers to candidates.
  2. Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding.
  3. Develop and implement policies to enhance team effectiveness and overall employee well-being.
Employee Relations and Development
  1. Build trusted relationships across all levels, providing HR advice and resolving employee issues.
  2. Design and manage performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and career development plans.
  3. Promote a culture of continuous feedback and professional growth through training and development initiatives.
Organizational Development and Strategy
  1. Collaborate with leadership to identify and address organizational challenges, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  2. Develop and update policies, procedures, and HR strategies to support company growth and employee satisfaction.
  3. Monitor and report on HR metrics (e.g., employee NPS, retention), using data to recommend improvements and support decision-making.
Compliance and Risk Management
  1. Oversee and enhance HR systems (e.g., HRIS, payroll) to maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  2. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor regulations and employment laws.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in HR management, preferably in a startup or small business environment.
  3. Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies and programs that support business objectives.
  4. Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
  5. Proven ability to handle sensitive and complex HR issues with discretion and professionalism.
  6. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  7. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Comfortable with ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities.
  9. Strong team player and work ethic.

We Offer

  1. Salary range: $145-165k depending on experience with bonus and equity.
  2. Holidays, vacation, and sick time.
  3. Summer Fridays and quiet week between Christmas and New Years.
