LOCATION: Stone Haus Restaurant
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/ Hourly
POSITION:
Are you a motivated and passionate individual who has experience in the food and beverage industry? Are you looking for an atmosphere with beautiful views and amazing people? This position is for you The Lead Pizza Cook is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Stone Haus team. They ensure that high-quality pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and espresso drinks are prepared and cooked according to established recipes and standards, while also maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The Lead Pizza Cook not only demonstrates excellent culinary skills but also exhibits leadership qualities to manage and guide their team effectively. SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Pizza Cook or in a similar supervisory role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for maintaining food quality and presentation.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts within the team.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- On Premise Beer certificate as well as a DABS Manager training
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision and Team Management:
- Lead and guide the pizza cooking team.
- Write Schedules
- manage breaks, and allocate responsibilities to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Provide training to new staff members and ongoing coaching to enhance their culinary skills.
Quality Control:
- Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality, and reject any items that do not meet standards.
- Monitor the cooking process to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection, avoiding overcooking or undercooking.
- Monitor portion sizes, toppings distribution, and cooking times to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
Kitchen Organization:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Manage inventory of pizza ingredients, sauces, and other supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Keep track of equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions for prompt repair.
- Minimize food wastage by implementing effective portion control and storage practices.
- Assist in managing the food cost budget by monitoring ingredient usage and controlling expenses.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
- Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor food storage practices to prevent contamination and spoilage.
- Train staff on proper food handling and hygiene practices.
Customer Service:
- Collaborate with staff to ensure timely and accurate orders.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests related to orders.
Health and Safety Requirements:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire codes and occupational health guidelines.
