We are looking to recruit a Litigation Associate – Environmental Litigation. Join our client, a dynamic mid-sized law firm in the heart of San Francisco that provides a comprehensive range of legal services to businesses, individuals, and organizations.

Position

Associate Attorney, Environmental Litigation and Counseling (Partnership Track)


Experience Required

  • Approximately three years of experience in environmental litigation and counseling.
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental laws, particularly those related to: Hazardous and solid waste, Water and air regulations, Endangered species protections, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • Land use litigation experience is a plus.


Role Responsibilities

  • Engage in environmental litigation and administrative enforcement matters.Provide counsel on environmental permitting, due diligence, and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft and manage legal documents, including: Pleadings, motions, and written discovery responses, Managing document discovery processes, Taking and defending depositions, Arguing motions in court.
  • Advise clients on various environmental matters and regulatory requirements.


Ideal candidates will demonstrate

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar.
  • 3-5 years in Environmental Law Litigation, Land Use Law experience is a plus..
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Superior legal writing abilities
