Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled Cloud/Automation Engineer with expertise in Ansible and AWS to support business-as-usual (BAU) work during a period of team transitions. This role involves hands-on contributions to AWS infrastructure, deployment automation, and scripting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in agile environments and be capable of delivering with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities:


Manage and optimize AWS Infrastructure services including EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, VPC, VPN, TGW, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and EventBridge.

Automate deployment processes using Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.

Develop and maintain scripts using Shell and Python.

Perform practical Linux systems administration in a cloud or virtualized environment.

Collaborate in an agile environment, actively contributing to team discussions and feedback loops.

Support code release and production deployment activities, ensuring bugs and defects are addressed promptly.

Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Required Skills and Experience:


3+ years of experience in AWS with direct contributions in DevOps engineering.

Strong expertise in AWS Infrastructure services and automation tools.

Hands-on experience with GitLab, Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.

Practical knowledge of Linux systems administration in cloud environments.

Experience working on FedRamp compliant projects (preferred but not required).

Strategic thinking and ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.


Interview Process:


1. Technical Interview with a Subject Matter Expert.

2. Final Interview with the Client.


Work Location:


Preferred candidates will be located in Phoenix, AZ and able to work on-site as needed.

Remote candidates will be considered if the local talent pool is exhausted.


Reason for Need:


This role is needed to provide support while two internal team members are on paternity leave.
