- This is a recruiter posted position for our law firm client that provides exceptional legal representation in personal injury and employment law matters throughout California. The firm is growing and is seeking a motivated Bilingual (English/Spanish) Legal Assistant to join the team in their Los Angeles (Century City) office. As a Legal Assistant, you will support the attorney and two paralegals in managing personal injury cases from intake through settlement, ensuring the highest level of client service and case organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with new client intake by gathering and verifying information via phone and email
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns
- Clearly and empathetically explain legal processes, case timelines, and next steps to clients
- Open and maintain insurance claims, including those related to Medi-Cal, Medicare, and private insurance liens
- Verify insurance coverage, liability, and case-specific details
- Collect, review, and organize essential documents such as medical records, police reports, and supporting case files
- Coordinate with medical providers regarding appointments, request records, and address billing inquiries
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date case files using Filevine case management software
- Track deadlines, case milestones, and communications to ensure timely progress and avoid delays
- Draft case summaries, treatment timelines, and other documentation for attorney review
- Support attorneys and paralegals in preparing cases for settlement negotiations or litigation
- Perform additional administrative or case-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Prior experience at a personal injury law firm
- Proficiency in case management software (Filevine preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
