Position: Buyer and Visual Merchandiser
Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Buyer and Visual Merchandiser to join our team. This role is crucial to our success, involving the research, analysis, and forecasting of buying trends, markets, styles, and products. You will manage our inventory using an advanced inventory management system, ensuring optimal stock levels. Additionally, you will maintain our showroom to meet visual merchandising standards and liaise between store personnel and vendors to ensure a top-notch customer experience.
Reports to: Owner
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional Saturdays, holidays, and special events as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate inventory selections based on data analytics, budgets, and visual merchandising needs.
- Manage the reorder of fast-selling items and maintain stock levels.
- Develop inventory programs and collections.
- Educate sales associates on product and vendor information, lead times, and availability.
- Ensure all items purchased have a PO in the Edge system.
- Oversee that all products received into inventory are strategic and requested items.
- Manage turnover, GMROI, gross profit, and aged inventory KPIs by category, vendor, and collection.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
Trade Show and Vendor Meetings:
- Lead the team in preparing for buying shows and vendor meetings.
- Create inventory plans by vendor, category, and collections.
- Maintain the buying show calendar and vendor appointments.
- Create planograms for brands and collections.
- Generate and utilize inventory reports to make data-driven decisions.
- Manage budgets to determine show budgets by vendor, level, and collection.
- Lead buying show and vendor meetings.
- Attend all professional meetings and appointments.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for all contracts.
- Select high-quality, great-value selections based on data analytics, budgets, and visual merchandising needs.
- Cultivate and manage vendor relationships.
- Manage fast sellers, seasonal merchandise, aged inventory, and core products.
- Create post-buying show PO lists, including budget plans, purchase amounts, stock balance amounts, net totals, asset/memo, and negotiated invoices.
