Position Summary
Recurrent Energy is one of the world’s largest and most geographically diversified utility-scale solar and energy storage project development, ownership, and operations platforms. With an industry-leading team of in-house energy experts, we are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. and function as Canadian Solar’s global development and power services business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the forecasting and reporting process for the North America and Latin America divisions of the Global Energy Group, including preparation of budgets, consolidation of financial statements, and presentation of financial data;
- Direct team of analysts in the execution of the region’s annual operating plan, including analysis of variances to budget and contingency planning to drive robust financial performance;
- Establish improvements to financial forecasting, including, but not limited to reconciled regional balance sheets, implementing and managing a dashboard system and communicating forecasting schedule;
- Partner with business leaders in development, EPC, Asset Management, O&M and others to optimize forecasts, manage risks and drive improvements to financial performance;
- Assist in the company’s monthly, quarterly and yearly closing, conducting account reconciliations and analysis as required;
- Provide thoughtful and timely analysis of forecast and variance to actuals with actionable insights communicated to business leaders.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience in related role. 15+ years overall experience in finance or accounting.
- US GAAP reporting exposure, UK GAAP + IFRS knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to perform related functions in adherence to regulations, laws, policies, and standards
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Able to deal with people tactfully, confidentially, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- Computer literacy, including effective skills in SAP, MS Office (strong Excel knowledge).
- Energy industry experience a plus, Six Sigma training or experience highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Fluent in English.
