  • The Company: Publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust focused on the acquisition and operation of single and multi-tenant industrial properties.
  • The Growth: Our client has entered into a strategic partnership that will provide them with nearly $500M of capital to pursue acquisitions.
  • The Role: Reporting to the CAO, the Director will lead all SEC reporting functions; maintain compliance with SOX framework; ensure effective internal controls and processes; and conduct technical accounting research to support complex transactions and ensure adherence to GAAP.
  • The Opportunity: The CAO is seeking an individual who can be a successor.
  • Compensation/Benefits: Highly competitive base + Bonus + 100% company paid medical and dental coverage + unlimited vacation.
  • Hybrid work environment; 3 days in office in Boston's Financial District


The Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting's responsibilities include:



  • Lead all SEC reporting functions, including preparation and review of 10-K, 10-Q, and other filings.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX framework, ensuring effective internal controls and processes.
  • Conduct technical accounting research to support complex transactions and ensure adherence to GAAP.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support audits and resolve technical accounting issues.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support M&A activities with financial due diligence, as needed.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 8+ years of experience in public accounting or industry, with a strong background in SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
  • Real Estate industry experience highly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
