Software Engineer, Backend Job Type: Contract Location: Remote Contract Duration: October 14, 2025 – April 10, 2026 Target Start Date: October 14, 2025 About the Opportunity Our client, a leader in online communities, is looking for a skilled Software Engineer, Backend to join their team for a 6-month engagement. The Paid User Acquisition and Conversions team focuses on strategically investing in paid marketing channels to drive high-quality user sign-ups and optimizing their journey toward meaningful engagement. This involves owning the entire user experience from initial ad impression through the conversion funnel, collaborating closely with product and design teams to optimize landing pages, sign-up flows, and onboarding sequences. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly. Key Responsibilities & Deliverables Work cross-functionally with marketing, product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute product and business strategies and build novel products and features. Communicate effectively within the team and across disciplines, working closely with product managers and designers to craft compelling user experiences. Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight and helping scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in backend development with multiple parts of the backend stack, from databases to networking to computing infrastructure. Deep expertise in Go, Python, Postgres, Redis, Thrift, gRPC, GraphQL, and deployment to Docker/K8s on AWS. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams in a fully remote environment.
