Our sales team is trainedacross all of our products to give our customers insights into our entireportfolio.Senior RFIC / MMIC Electronic Design EngineerJob Description:In MACOM’s Diode Business Line, we design control functioncircuits for aerospace and defense, test and measurement, cellular/5G, medical,space/hi-rel, automotive and other wireless applications. We are looking for anexperienced microwave and millimeter-wave electronic design engineer. You will:Be responsible for the design, layout, test, and release of new controlcircuits for microwave and millimeter-wave applications based on Si andGaAs technologies.Designproducts such as switches, limiters, digital and analog phase shifters,digital and analog attenuators, detectors, frequency multipliers, mixers,modulators/demodulators, CMOS drivers & sequencers and multi-function RFICs,MMICs and Hybrids.Be responsible for all design activities and related product developmentactivities from kickoff through engineering evaluation to product release.Workwith our test engineering team and write test and assembly plans andprocedures.Workwith our package and assembly teams to come up with new and morecost-effective packaging and assembly methods.Initiateprototype builds and manage product characterization. You will designevaluation boards and characterization fixtures, direct or performmeasurements, and process and present evaluation data against the productdevelopment goals.Workwith our Product Engineering group to transfer the product to production.Followa formal stage-gate new product introduction process.Job Requirements:Degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering.More than 5 years of experience in microwave design of RFIC,MMIC and/or Hybrid products.Fluentwith modern microwave simulation tools such as ADS or AWR.Familiarwith integration and experience designing for high yield and low cost.Experiencewith EM simulations (Momentum, EmPro, HFSS, etc). Thermal simulationexperience is a plus (Ansys Icepak or equivalent).Understandingand practical knowledge of working with the Smith Chart for impedancematching and tuning.Operationand calibration of s-parameter and nonlinear measurements using industrystandard test equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meter,thermal imaging, etc.).Understandingof a variety of microwave measurements which include but are not limitedto S-Parameters, IP3/TOI, compression/limiting, harmonics, DC and/or RFcontinuous and pulse power, noise figure, switching speed, conversionloss/gain, etc.Experiencewith the design of microwave evaluation boards including both electricaland thermal aspects.Deviceor process modeling experience is a plus (ADS, AWR, TCAD, Silvaco, etc).Familiaritywith AutoCAD or other drawing packages is a plus.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build longlasting partnerships.Due to ITAR regulations, only candidates who are U.S. Persons(U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, or individualsgranted asylum or refugee status) will be considered for this position.EEO: MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverseworkforce.
