Role: Data Scientist, Senior Consultant/Consultant

Location: Boston/Hartford

Please note: This role is not eligible for 100% remote work. Employees must live within a commutable distance of the Boston Metro Area and must be willing to be onsite at the client and/or Slalom office up to 5 days a week.

We blend design, engineering, and analytics expertise to build the future. Our New England Data & Analytics practice is looking to add a Data Scientist Consultant to our locally based team.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply fundamental and advanced quantitative methods, including machine learning and statistical modeling, to solve complex business problems and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with client data science teams to enhance, scale, and operationalize existing models.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide thought leadership on the latest ML/AI technologies and applications to client industry and use cases.
  • Lead and participate in solutioning sessions, translating business objectives into actionable machine learning/data science use cases.

What You’ll Bring

  • Production-level experience with core quantitative analysis techniques in a consulting environment.
  • Quantitative background with relevant experience using data to solve problems and answer questions.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with libraries/frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn.
  • Experience with cloud and modern data science tools and platforms such as Databricks, GCP BigQuery, AWS SageMaker, and Azure ML.
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
