The Avera Brain and Spine Institute provides high level specialty care to acutely ill or injured patients with brain, back and central nervous system disorders.  The Avera Brain and Spine Institute offers a challenging and rewarding work environment where Patient Care Technicians serve a highly valuable role in providing direct personal care during patients’ journey back to wellness.

Position Highlights:

Job Summary

  • Communication: Care for critically ill patients with brain and spine disorders requires excellent communication skills between all members of the care team
  • Empathy: Encouragement, patience, and support are vital to caring for patients during their journey back to wellness
  • Teamwork: Teamwork is the foundation of high-quality patient care delivered to critically ill patients on the Brain & Spine Unit

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.

Certification/Licensure/Registrations

  • Nursing assistant certification preferred, but not required.

 Work Schedule

  • Ability to work various shifts as scheduled, and to work every other weekend and holiday rotations

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

  • $17.50 - $23.00
