The Manager of Professional Services Consultants is responsible for managing and developing a team of consultants that provide consulting services of state-of-the-art healthcare applications.

The Manager - Professional Services Consultants is a frontline management role with three primary responsibilities, listed below. This position will typically report to a Director of Professional Consulting Services or a Vice President of Professional Consulting Services, but may receive a matrix assignment to other business units as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience providing customer-facing consulting services for enterprise SaaS solutions with a drive to challenge their abilities and to develop deep product expertise. As a leader within the team, you will utilize a wide range of technologies combined with deep knowledge of HealthEdge’s products to provide exceptional customer support.

About Global Professional Services:

Our Global Professional Services team supports customer-funded service delivery initiatives separate from standard SaaS license support activities. Examples include customer implementations, business expansion, and optimization initiatives.

Your Impact:

  1. Services Delivery: The Manager - Professional Consulting Services is responsible for the successful delivery of consulting services as well as the coordination of activities and information between key engagement stakeholders.
  2. Personnel Management: The Manager - Professional Consulting Services is also responsible for the management of consulting personnel, which would include participation in staffing decisions, performance reviews, and career development support.
  3. Revenue Generation: This role is responsible for growing revenue in assigned projects, primarily through effective client and engagement management.

Directly manage a team of Professional Services team members, consisting of Business and Technical Consultants.

Manage the work of the consultants under their direction (e.g., direct, matrix, or subcontractor) to ensure optimal resource utilization and engagement execution.

Ensure that all assigned team members have a solid understanding of client business objectives and the plans in place to attain those objectives.

Provide business and product leadership in analysis, communication, and consulting skills.

Ensure successful delivery of consulting services, particularly through effective engagement and customer management.

Personally deliver billable consulting services, primarily as an individual contributor and be able to perform the duties of a Principal Consultant.

Become a subject matter expert and trusted client advisor for HealthRules Payor.

Meet assigned revenue targets through growth in assigned projects and effective utilization of direct reports.

Grow revenue for the assigned clients/projects through the effective management and expansion of the existing account(s)/project(s).

Lead the scoping, sizing, and estimating efforts for assigned engagements.

Manage competing priorities to set overall prioritization of project activities.

Be a creative, driven, and supportive Team Leader always looking for ways to drive improved service and greater operational efficiencies and performance.

Assist direct reports in personal and career development by providing regular feedback, coaching, and guidance on personal development, and encouraging direct reports to take ownership of their personal career path.

Participate in recruiting and employee development activities to ensure a balanced team with the right set of skills.

Be driven to learn and understand the business need as well as the product need.

Perform all job functions consistent with HealthEdge policies and procedures, including those which govern handling PHI and PII.

Participate in billable work as assigned up to 75% in either a Principal Technical Consultant or Principal Business Consultant role, depending on skill set.

Support internal initiatives and additional duties as assigned or required.

What You Bring:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a business, technical, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience in a consulting role, working at a technology company with a SaaS model.
  3. Experience in managing, scaling, and upskilling Professional Services teams, preferably within a SaaS model.
  4. Prior health Plan industry (HMO, PPO, POS, MAPD, Medicare, Medicaid, Dental etc.) experience.
  5. Experience with Health Plan Claims and Benefits Administration Software.
  6. Experience leading client discovery, requirements gathering, facilitating client sessions, triaging of implementation issues, and testing complex interfaces.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to negotiate solutions to complex issues that satisfy the needs of a diverse group of constituents.
  8. Prior experience leading the scoping and delivery of technology services engagements, including project and engagement management.
  9. Ability to handle project-based work and to manage own tasks, schedules, and deliverables and/or those of project team members.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate concepts to a variety of audiences.
  11. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. Flexible in adapting to changing priorities.
  12. Experienced resource manager. Demonstrated ability to manage technical personnel and processes.
  13. Proficiency in negotiating and managing conflict.
  14. Passionate about producing high-quality work and customer delight.
  15. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  16. If technical background, experience with web technologies, middleware such as WebLogic/WebSphere and popular RDBMS systems.
  17. If technical background, strong knowledge of databases (preferably Oracle), understand schemas, database structures.
  18. If technical background, experience with Linux operating systems.
  19. If business consulting background, oversee overall business design as it relates to the HealthRules Payor Platform.
  20. If business consulting background, ability to guide the configuration and execution of the business design.
  21. Experience with SOAP and Web services is a plus.
  22. Ability to navigate and operate in SmartSheets and Salesforce.
