The Engineering Supervisor is for The Barnes San Francisco, Tapestry Collection by Hilton less than a block from Union Square, our hotel is a short walk from San Francisco’s galleries, restaurants, and shops along Geary Street. We’re two miles from Fisherman’s Wharf and six miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. This role will provide amazing guest service while maintaining the full operational functionality of the building. You and the entire engineering team are responsible for the repair, service, and preventative maintenance of all things within and outside of the hotel building. Taking pride and passion for your work and working within a team.


Job Overview

· As a supervisor, you will lead by example in assisting guests with room calls and troubleshoot concerns brought to your attention

· Maintain a Preventative Maintenance program for guest rooms, and other operational equipment,

pools, kitchen equipment and other areas as assigned

· Support the needs of your department head while giving guidance to the engineers in the

department

· Create a team environment in your department and with all other departments: Front Office,

Security, Sales, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and others

· Work safe utilization of proper PPE and comply with all safety regulations set for by the city, state

and OSHA

· Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel


Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:

· Mathematical knowledge around building and construction

· Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel

· Have the ability to estimate costs on projects related to refrigeration, HVAC, heating and

machinery

· Use and knowledge of machine operating such as: drill presses, power saws, lathes, basic

plumbing, HVAC


Physical Demands:

· Lift, push, pull, rotate 50lbs or more

· Standing and walking up to a full 8 hours a day


Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent education required. A trade school a plus
  • Certifications a plus in HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical
  • 2 years previously supervising a team of 3 or more preferred
  • 3 years experience working as an engineer for a building or hotel preferr
