Overview of the Procurement Specialist role:

  • Source goods, services, and equipment required by the agency through informal (RFQ) and formal (RFP) processes.
  • Follow State of Texas and Federal Procurement policies and procedures
  • Apply strategic cost savings, negotiations, and market research on all procurements
  • Manage internal and external relationships by assisting stakeholder and keeping open communication with vendors and potential vendors.
  • Data Entry
  • Research and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate with vendors and internal customers via email and phone

Preferred Qualifications of the Procurement Specialist:

  • 2+ years of purchasing, supply chain or buyer experience
  • Solid MS Excel
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to handle fast paced environment with accuracy
