Mountain View, United States Matic Robots Inc. Full time

Company OverviewEach year, 2.5 trillion hours are spent on household chores. At Matic, we’re on a mission to recapture that lost time, and we’re doing it by revolutionizing home robotics. Our first product, also called Matic, is a Wall-E-esque floor cleaning robot. We've built what amounts to "full self-driving in the home” with real-time 3D mapping, adaptive path-tracking, and a precise semantic understanding of the home. Our breakthroughs in spatial AI allow Matic to work reliably in real homes, using only RGB cameras and neural networks running on-device.Privacy FirstWhat happens in the home, stays in the home. Our robots are private by design, with all data processing performed by the robot itself, not in the cloud. Our ApproachBefore the iPhone, consumers adopted several distinct devices; cell phones, PDAs, and portable music players each served a particular need. We believe in a similar progression for home robotics, starting with single-purpose robots and building iteratively toward more complex capabilities over time. Our CultureMatic is a tight-knit and collaborative team, singularly focused on building products our customers will cherish. We're ultra-hardworking people committed to solving tough problems that save precious time and energy.About the roleAs a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll lead the design of critical PCBs and subsystems of our products. You will work closely with team members from our hardware, software, and product teams to help us realize our vision of full home autonomy. If you’re passionate about great design and obsessed with getting the details right, we’d love to talk to you about how you can work with us to pioneer innovations in the home robotics space. What you'll doOwn end-to-end design and manufacturing of critical PCBAs in the systemSubsystem design and prototyping, component selection, schematic capture, prototype bring-up and debugging, hardware bug tracking, functional verification, and signal characterizationBoard layout of PCB assemblies including SoCs, microcontrollers, rugged connectors, sensors, power devices, etc.Electromechanical integration through collaboration with mechanical and firmware engineersDevelop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its lifetimeWork with CMs to ensure proper production of PCBAs and subassemblies, perhaps also flying out to be on the line as wellWhat we look forTechnical degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent4+ years of professional electrical design experience on a product (preferably a consumer product) that has shipped in high volumePrevious ECAD experience with tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, or equivalentExperience with common digital protocols including I2C, SPI, USB, MIPIExperience with component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layoutExperience with verifying and validating functional requirements of the electrical systemsExposure to regulatory certification processesSupply chain management and PCBA contract manufacturing experienceComfort with fast-paced, startup atmosphere -- you don’t shy away from the hard workHigh level of maturity, ownership, and pride in your workWe\'d love to hear from you if…You are genuinely motivated to help those around youYou are passionate about learning outside of your normal comfort zonesYou love diagnosing complex technical issuesYou are excited to do great work #J-18808-Ljbffr
