Instrumentation Technician

MWD is currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join their team. The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for carrying out tasks and activities consistent with instrumentation and electrician work. The technician will independently diagnose equipment control problems and implement preventive and corrective repairs with only general direction in a safe, efficient and compliant manner. The technician will troubleshoot PLCs, monitors, SCADA, and electrical components and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs repairs, preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment;
- Perform work on medium voltage equipment, pumps, motors, SCADA systems, Recorders, mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/electronic valves and operators, electronic monitoring and output devices, ultrasonic level reading devices, air compressors, blowers, radio equipment, plumbing;
- Troubleshoots electrical and control circuits;
- Makes equipment adjustments and reports any serious problems;
- Assists with operational tasks in other areas as needed;
- Identify and report health and/or safety hazards;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills:
- Must possess general construction knowledge;
- Possesses computer and networking knowledge;
- Electrical skills to perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical motors, electrical panels, control panels, motors;
- Possesses knowledge of basic math calculations such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume;
- Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, such as MS Word, MS Excel;
- Proven ability to effectively and safely operates hand tools and other equipment related to maintenance trades;
- Must possess hands-on experience with irrigation systems, pipe-fitting using copper, plastic and steel;
- Ability to use a forklift, crane, loader, dump truck, backhoe and other heavy equipment;
- Knowledge of water/wastewater a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience working in an electrical maintenance capacity;
- Experience with computer and network setup and maintenance;
- Must possess a valid CDL with Tanker endorsement, Class A preferred or the ability to attain;
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays;
- Requires lifting up to 50-75 pounds, extended periods of bending, stooping, squatting and occasional twisting;
- Capable of working outdoors during seasonal heat and/or cold or other adverse weather conditions;
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
