We are a pre-launch technology start-up which has recently completed a prototype of our AI-powered, data-driven opportunity network that will match and connect businesses to critical growth partners. We are currently raising $4M in equity finance for the launch of our pilot in four key markets across intersecting industries, with 50K onboarded businesses.

About the Job

Over the past three years and backed by seed and sweat equity, we have put major technological and operational building blocks in place that will significantly mitigate risks in support of our launch. We are now seeking a talented and entrepreneurial CFO and co-founder to join our management team. Partner with a team of accomplished and committed founders (all have invested funds and leveraged personal resources), to build an exciting business with unicorn aspirations.

Primary Responsibilities

The CFO will be responsible for initially leading the fundraise and once we launch, building our financial organisation from the ground up. The CFO will have the expertise to design scalable financial systems and manage all company financials as we launch into 40+ countries over five years. Accordingly, the candidate must have a demonstrable record of success as a senior financial executive and CFO, significant international experience and superior problem solving and analytical skills.

Report to and work closely with the CEO. Global responsibility for overall leadership of every aspect of the company's finances, including raising finance, strategic planning, financing of operations, currency hedging, investor relations, designing and managing global financial controls, accounting systems, and policy. Responsibilities also include recruiting and managing financial personnel in 4 countries initially and scaling to 40 countries within 5 years, implementing operational best practices along with the COO, and understanding and mitigating key elements of the company's risk profile.

You should definitely have

  • Experience in raising start-up finance with connections to HNWI's or other key financial sources relevant to early stage/ pre-revenue businesses
  • Been a CFO or equivalent in a successful company with multinational operations
  • Excellent reputation in financial community
  • Success in building teams and infrastructure in a rapidly expanding business
  • Experience in a leadership role in start-up or early stage company or a background operating in an entrepreneurial environment including involvement in key decision-making and strategic direction preferred
