mPower is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Acquisition Expert to join our team. Our team consists of experts and professionals who have experience in management, administration, consulting, and technology. This position seeks to implement positive mission-oriented change, to deliver tangible operational results, and to build and continuously improve the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Optimization of MRI Data Acquisition using the insert gradient coil
- Evaluate and refine protocols for MRI acquisition
- Test and compare different acquisition strategies to improve image quality and efficiency
- Collaborate with the team to implement optimized acquisition methods in clinical settings
- Integration of Dynamic Field Camera Data
- Analyze dynamic field camera data to identify potential artifacts or inconsistencies
- Develop methods to correct for or reduce artifacts using this additional data
- Work with engineers to ensure accurate synchronization between field camera data and MRI acquisition systems
- Collaboration in Multidisciplinary Research
- Regularly communicate with neuroscientists to understand clinical requirements
- Integrate MRI acquisition techniques with post-processing and analysis tools developed by the team
- Contribute to interdisciplinary discussions to ensure MRI protocols are tailored to clinical research goals
- Development of clinically Translatable MRI Tools
- Work on implementing robust reconstruction algorithms that ensure accurate clinical interpretation of MRI data
- Validate the tools developed by testing them in clinical scenarios or in preclinical studies
- Ensure that the developed tools can be easily integrated into clinical workflows
- Post-Processing and Analysis Collaboration
- Provide input on how data acquisition impacts post-processing workflows
- Adjust acquisition strategies to improve the efficacy of post-processing algorithms
- Develop tools or pipelines that enhance the connection between acquisition and post-processing stages
- Development of Experiential Protocols
- Set up experiments to test MRI acquisition techniques on phantoms or human subjects
- Analyze experimental results and adjust protocols as needed
- Ensure experimental protocols meet clinical standards
- Maintain electronic laboratory notebook to document all work performed using LabArchives platform
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in engineering, physics or related field is preferred
- Three (3) years of postdoctoral experience working in a research environment, or equivalent experience in industry
- Expertise in MRI pulse sequence programming, with preference for GE and Philips systems is required
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language such as C/C++, Matlab, and Python is desirable
- Deep familiarity with Linux-based computational environment
- Previous work experience with common quantitative structural MRI techniques, such as diffusion MRI, perfusion MRI, and relaxometry is desirable
