Job Summary: Tax Director

A top-tier accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead technical tax reviews, ensure compliance, manage tax research projects, and provide client service. The role includes supervising a tax team, participating in tax planning, and collaborating with other departments. Candidates must have a CPA license, 8+ years of progressive public accounting experience, and strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve complex tax returns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of federal and state tax returns.
  • Delegate and oversee tax research projects.
  • Actively participate in client meetings and tax planning.
  • Serve as a resource for tax-related questions.
  • Supervise and train tax team members.
  • Assist audit teams on large client engagements.
  • Stay updated on tax developments and communicate them to the team.

Requirements:

  • CPA license (mandatory).
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (Master's in Taxation preferred).
  • 8+ years in public accounting with leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH ProSystem fx Tax).
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
