Overview:
A seasoned, highly experienced professional; uses advanced professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways; uses advanced analytical and technical skills to adapt policies and programs and develop models to support smaller projects; focuses on providing analyses and applying results to improve business operations.

Responsibilities:
Designs, validates and brings new products to market. Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials. Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive innovative product development process by performing market research, regulations analysis, development of product validation plans, determining customer needs during early-stage development, and continuing research to promote adjustments to accommodate changes in customer needs.
  2. Provide technical solutions to design, build, and test prototypes to ensure products will achieve target specifications and provide intended functionalities.
  3. Lead and manage the development and execution of customer projects using effective project management methodologies to ensure strong coordination between product development, manufacturing, and customer to attain successful and on-time delivery of projects and programs.
  4. Establish and maintain a safe and efficient in-house operational facility to drive rapid prototyping, testing, fabrication of complex nano and micro-structures for early-stage development, and proof-of-concept demonstrations by ensuring quick turnaround time.
  5. Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical reports, product roadmaps, timelines, budgets, product specifications, and bill of materials.

Qualifications:
Education: PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering or relevant Applied Sciences.
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in the design and optimization of nanostructured optical systems using analytical models and computational simulation tools; prototyping and advanced characterization tools; advanced lithography tools and processes (ebeam, nanoimprint, phase mask lithography etc.). 10+ years experience in the design and optimization of nanostructured optical systems using analytical models and computational simulation tools; experience with thermal modeling; prototyping and advanced characterization tools; advanced lithography tools and processes (ebeam, nanoimprint, phase mask lithography etc.).
Competencies: Work independently; problem solving; resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways; exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Communications: Demonstrated strong skill in communications – inter-company, sales office-to-BU, with customer key technical personnel, and relevant industry SME’s.

Other Requirements: Domestic and/or International Travel as required.
