Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Milbank Area Hospital Avera. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of laboratory test results, which are essential for providing the best possible care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, bacteriology, serology, and body fluids.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, adhering to strict quality control and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide timely and effective laboratory support, contributing to optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest laboratory techniques, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school as an MLT or CLT.
- At least six months to one year of related experience and/or training, preferably in a clinical laboratory setting.
- NCA or ASCP certification is preferred, but not required.
Work Schedule
- PRN schedule, working as needed to cover a variety of shifts on weekdays and weekends.
- Weekday shifts include 6am-2:30pm, 6:30am-3pm, 7am-3:30pm, 8am-5pm, and 9am-5:30pm, with assistance with weekday call from 6pm-6am.
- Weekend shifts include 7am-3pm, with weekend call from 3pm-7am.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $31.75 per hour, with actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
