LHH is looking to hire a Tax Analyst for a mostly remote role located in Chicago. This position is primarily focused on federal and state tax provisions and compliance, involving comprehensive tax calculations for U.S. operations.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Tax Provision Preparation: Perform tax provision calculations for all US operations on a monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual basis using OneSource Tax Provision software.
  • International Tax Compliance: Support international tax provision calculations and assist with compliance matters, including transfer pricing data collection, using OneSource Tax Provision.
  • State Compliance: Gather and prepare information for CSC to file state annual reports.
  • Income Tax Return Compliance: Assist with co-sourced corporate income tax return compliance by preparing federal and state work papers and gathering necessary information for compliance.
  • Personal Property Tax Returns: Prepare personal property tax returns as assigned.
  • Tax Notices Management: Address and manage the tax-related notices log, including drafting responses to tax agency notices.
  • Physical Location Maintenance: Maintain and update records of physical locations for US entities.
  • Tax Documentation: Prepare memoranda to document or communicate tax research, issues, or positions.
  • Audit Assistance: Assist with income tax audits and prepare resolutions for tax notices from various jurisdictions.
  • Compliance Matters: Support compliance with other regulations including BEA, FinCEN, etc.
  • Liaison and Strategy Development: Collaborate with financial, treasury, legal, operational personnel, and external advisors to develop tax strategies and solutions.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and support business operations on tax-related issues.
  • Ad-Hoc Compliance Projects: Assist with various compliance-related projects, such as accounting method changes, law changes, and E&P calculations.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or a related field from a four-year college or university, with a focus on taxation preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in corporate income tax compliance preparation and support.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting systems (e.g., SAP, SAI, Oracle, Hyperion).
  • Basic knowledge of ASC740 accounting and Thomson Reuters Tax Provision (OTP).
  • Basic understanding of BNA Tax Research software is a plus.
