Learns to efficiently utilize resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned within this classification. Strictly adhering to published company I.S.O. guidelines and procedures Maintaining and turning in accurate daily labor reports. Strictly adhering to published Company guidelines and procedures. Supplying own hand tools per published list. Learning an operational understanding of all assigned equipment, procedures, capabilities, and capacities, especially any associated safety concerns, such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, safety belts and lanyards. Learning to successfully perform the following general job requirements: Use drill motors, jig saws and Sawzall; set up and operate stud guns. Read and interpret standard documentation, such as blueprints, sketches, bills of material, routings, or other authorized forms of instruction, including thoroughly understanding pertinent data such as required dimensions, tolerances, shapes, descriptions, notes, symbols, etc. Work within close tolerances. Use the appropriate, generally accepted measuring devices as required. Plan layout, parts positioning, component fit-up, assembly sequence and equipment. Set up, adjust, and operate pipe cutting and threading equipment or other required tooling. Apply the fundamentals of pipe fitting techniques, procedures, installation, and application. Dismantle, straighten, reshape, and re-assemble components or assemblies to specification. Verify proof of conformance of finished product to specification, and complete and post required build checklists(s) on each job. Process all relevant "gig" list items and how to coordinate acceptable signoff with checkout department. Follow oral and written instructions. Operate overhead cranes, fork trucks, hand trucks, or other various equipment to move material or products safely, including properly selecting, attaching, and moving materials and/or equipment with the appropriate lifting devices, such as chains, clevises, or straps. Perform simple upkeep and cleaning of equipment. Stock locations, and store excess material properly in a timely manner. Maintaining housekeeping standards in compliance with established company policies. Working with supervision, leadmen, and others as required to accomplish any task. Learning to successfully perform equipment pre- and main assembly and installation of all major systems, per required specifications, as defined below: Perform Preassembly and General Assembly for all product groups, including knowing Vacuum and Atmosphere product nomenclatures and assembly particulars of equipment; cleaning and preparing components prior to assembly; and identifying/using correct types of seals, vacuum grease, silicon seal, gaskets, sealants for gas or pneumatic systems, pipe dope, Teflon tape, etc. Perform Tank Assembly by setting up, placing and leveling vessels or chambers, assembling and installing external components, and installing door seal inflater assemblies. Perform Pump Assembly by preassembling and installing mechanical pump and blower assembly and diffusion pump and poppet assembly, as well as correctly identifying pump oils and changing system to meet specifications as needed. Install all fittings and components for the Water System Assembly. Assemble and install panels and associated valves for Pneumatic Air Systems. Connect water, gas, air, and exhaust systems to support Equipment Testing. Perform Equipment Teardown Procedures, including disconnecting temporary utilities and storing materials; marking/tagging components and interconnecting systems such as pneumatic, water, air, etc. to aid in the reassembly or installation of equipment; flushing water from system and charging with antifreeze; thoroughly inspecting and equipment and reporting discrepancies, repairing as required; and removing componentry from unit in preparation for painting. Prepare Equipment for Shipment by reinstalling all water hoses and air systems tubing/hoses as required. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) and a minimum of one (1) year related experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic knowledge of determining angles is required in order to properly fit components. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply a commonsense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Ability to earn and maintain forklift and overhead crane training and certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high and/or precarious places; fumes or airborne particles may require the use of respiratory protection. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require hearing protection.
